I am all for making my wallet obsolete. No, I am not talking about the ongoing financial situation, but instead new technology potentially impacting the traditional wallet. Less to carry and less to keep track of would be a nice convenience. This article by Steve Hamm from BusinessWeek outlines First Data’s initiative to replace cards with pea-sized chips. Wonder if merchants and issuers will embrace the technology or perhaps I should say “when will they”?
