I recently had the privilege of being a participant in a half day session with Doug Hall, founder and CEO of the Eureka Ranch. I have pages of notes and would highly recommend you seize any opportunity to hear him talk. Here are three credit union thoughts to ponder:

  1. If you are not unique you had better be cheap
  2. Great credit unions have a soul and a mission
  3. You had better be growing new members

I like all three and feel like they are relevant. The first one is my favorite and pretty much sums up things right now.

Oh, and if you want a fourth one (bonus) – simplify your message. Tell people what you do. Loan money, secure deposit account, etc…

Amen! I’m a big fan of the simplify your message thought too. Remember when we would go to conferences and look at the extravagant booths and still ask ourselves….”What do they do?”.
